I've had many different stereo set ups over the past fifty years. The latest (bottom of picture) was this fancy pants BlueTooth, CD, FM (no AM!) multi functional all in one unit. Lasted about two years before things started to go wrong. Bluetooth stopped Bluetoothing, CD player stopped CD playing, and now the radio stopped radioing.
Note the scratched foggy simple clock radio on the top...clock working, radio tuned perfectly, stereo clear and crisp. It's been dropped, bumped, shaken, lost and found, you name it... its endured it. The best part of it...you'll love this part:
When I was 17 years old (41 years ago) my father came home with this one in a box from Radio Shack. "Happy Birthday!" he said.
how could he know that this humble little bedside radio would still be waking me up and keeping me company here in my studio 41 years later?
