Canadian Landscape Paintings
Have you ever sat on a rock and let your bare feet dangle into the rushing water? This one takes you back to that experience. Clean, clear water rushing past, the air as crisp and invigorating as ever.
In my heart I feel like this one is one of my most satisfying works, to me. I feel peaceful about it, I hope you do as well.

It runs through my mind often, that as an artist, this thing I am painting…it’s the first of its kind, it didn’t exist before this moment, it’s one of a kind and there will never ever be another one like it.

This weeks episode: The Rabbit Hole, staying true to your artists soul

Impressions from Robert McAffee collectors:
"I first met Robert when he and I worked on a charity project in Jackson's Point. I was captivated by his style and bold take on nature, and was thrilled to have two of his pieces, including one enormous one set in Northern Ontario, grace our home.
"I'd always had my eye on a stunning Mt. Rundle painting that was sold before we met. When I asked Robert if there was any chance he could find the inspiration to paint another like it, he was not only accommodating, but created a glorious piece that not only competes with the ocean view out of our Vancouver Island windows, but is - if even possible - equally stunning. "Robert kept us apprised of his progress throughout, and when our "baby" was ready to be delivered, he did so with the utmost care and protection. From beginning to end, this was a wonderful experience (although I know it's definitely not the end of our relationship). Thank you Robert for bringing such beauty into our lives. It's PERFECT, and you were amazing." Erin Davis Author, Broadcaster, Writer, Art Lover |
"Many years ago, my wife Raffaella and I were at the CN Tower 360 restaurant celebrating a special occasion when we noticed a dazzling collection of paintings adorning the walls. These looked so familiar to us yet they were new to our eyes. Are these newly discovered Group of Seven pieces? Upon leaving the restaurant that first time we saw Robert's works, we took more time to study and admire the paintings very closely. We were hooked! Robert's art had now begun its rent-free existence in our minds.
"Some time passed before we contacted Robert to make our very first purchase, which was a huge painting with dusk in Algonquin Park as its subject and... we were very excited. A few years later, we approached Robert about a commission for a harpsichord lid painting (an instrument I was building for myself) depicting an area in Northern Ontario near my birth place. We were delighted to learn that he was as excited about the project as we were, to say nothing about the fact that he was roughly in that area of Ontario when we first contacted him. We were very happy with the results and have since purchased 3 more paintings from Robert! It has been such a privilege seeing these paintings on a daily basis.
"Thanks Robert... you are a true Canadian treasure!!!"
