When I was a kid, my father took us on many family trips to stay with relatives in Knoxford, New Brunswick. I recall many memories both before hay bails and after hay bails. Those farmers and their kids worked from sun up till sun down bringing in the hay for the barn. Those trailers would be stacked high and riding on top all the way into the barn from the "out back" was a life threatening adventure at the best of times, but tons of fun never the less. Thanks to Uncle Doug, Oral McAffee, Allen McAffee, Carmen McAffee,Harold Reid, Keith Reid, Uncle Jack McAffee and of course Grampa McAffee (gone to be with the Lord) for these wonderful memories.

Mother is frugal, and daughter is anxious, as the dresses in the showcase call their names.

Robert paints "people paintings" from time to time. To see more like this please click on the image.

People Paintings

Along the path of painting over 45+ years I have attempted to do the occasional one which includes people. Hung up on detail I was never able to feel confident enough to show my paintings to anyone. Not until recently when I decided to dispense detail and create my works in a more general and loose method. The faces are not important as the mood of the scene and the story that it tells. In this way I make the story of each painting available to all to identify with.
I hope you enjoy what I like to call my excursion on a parallel road to my landscape paintings. not a departure, just an excursion.
Enjoy!
