This land of ours, Canada, is so rich with new and wonderful geography! New to you and me but the land has been there all along, we just need to stop our car, put it in park, lock the doors and take our cameras for a walk. That's my philosophy, and I try to do so every chance I get.
Recently I took up an invitation from a friend in the Gatineau Park area of Quebec and visited Meech Lake. I know, that Meech lake, the same one in the Canadian history books, But beyond the politics lies a beauty unlike any other. so many layers, so much depth that an artist can paint it for years and never grow tired of it.
I have undertaken to paint a series of boards and canvases expressing my love for the Lake and the surrounding region. I hope you will join me by visiting my page by clicking on the linked image above.
The Artists Journey

This sketch above became this finished painting below
The Pine Tree Painter.
How did I become known as the Pine Tree Painter? You could say I paint a lot of Pine Trees, that would be true. I paint a lot of other things too, but Pine Trees, Spruce Trees, Birch and others seem to be a continuous string in what i do. I just like the way they stand there like a custodian of the land. or a greeter to nature. So, I continue down the path with the Pine Tree Painter name on my head, It's ok.
