There comes a point in every artists life when an earthquake occurs. The ground shifts and everything the artist thought was right has just been shaken and disrupted. It comes in various forms and for this artist the shift came in the form of colour. This feeling that I wanted my paintings to embrace more. Envelope more. To reach out and touch you on your shoulder and offer warmth and comfort. Certainly drama is present but more than anything I want to project a happy warmth.
Going forward you will see it in my selection of colours. more earth tones, reddish brown, creams, warm yellows and rust. I want to project those assuring colours of coziness and have you feel secure. At home.
