The Algonquin Story
When I was just a child my father was the one who wanted us to see Canada. Every year on our family vacations he would pack up our van and off we would go, wandering all over this great land. One of the places we went was to Algonquin Park. I remember travelling through those grand East Gates and feeling like I was really in the wilderness. Imaginations run wild of bears, Moose and all sorts of wildlife.
To this day I return at least twice every year, only now I return on a mission. I have long felt that the biggest mistake we all make is that we drive right on through these vast wilderness areas and do not stop long enough to feel the breeze, smell the pines, listen to the splash of the waters against the rocks. Early in the morning as you walk through the lakeside woods you hear the echo of the cracking twigs underfoot as the sound travels out across the water and back off the trees.
Paddling a canoe around the smaller lakes like Canoe Lake,Smoke lake, Peg Lake, is such a wonderfully rewarding experience. Especially early in the morning. The loons greet you, fox often watch you from the shore and occasionally you just may find yourself in the gaze of a majestic Moose.
My mission is to bring some of that back for you. You can hang some of that experience on your walls in the form of my canvases. To know that I have been able to carry you for just a moment, while standing there in your living room or office, to paradise, that's rewarding for me. Come with me now on my Algonquin journey.

The dripping sihlouette of the bog tree's in Algonquin as the sun sets beyond.
