Packaging & Shipping
At robertmcaffee.com we ship Robert's paintings to destinations around the world. We use Federal Express for most shipments, and Canada Post for small paintings 8"x10" or smaller.
Shipments to destinations within Canada arrive by Ground or Air and can take from two to five days, depending on what service level the customer wishes to pay for.
Shipments are packaged in bubble wrap and boxed in pre formed telescoping boxes (see above) for double support and protection.
Additional or plywood crate can be used for any size painting and the customer agrees to cover all costs involved in construction of their size specific crate and the additional weight charges for shipping. An estimate for construction will be advised to the purchaser in such cases before commencing.
Rates for shipping depend on many variables such as distance, size, weight, and the choice of Ground or Air (air being about double the cost of ground service). You will be advised of your shipping cost and that will be added to the cost of purchasing your painting. All charges are to be covered in full before shipping will be completed.
For International shipments the delivery time varies depending on each countries Border Customs procedures. The usual turn around time for deliveries to the U.S., U.K. and Europe is 5 to 7 days. In some cases Border Customs may add additional handling or customs fees to shipments which will be covered by the purchaser of the painting.
Each international border has procedures and policies for moving original art. In most cases, specifically the United States Border Service require a Declaration of Original Art document to accompany the shipment. Robert McAffee will attach this document to the the shipment. As well, most countries require a Border Handling Fee. This fee is variable but usually is approximately $30.00-$50.00. This fee is to be covered by the purchaser of the art being shipped.
Costs for shipping or returning a shipment cannot be refunded.
