So we all know we've been paying for Gas through the nose. Prices in Ontario reached as high as $1.39 per litre this past year. Then, like gently letting off the pressure valve we saw the price on the world market begin to sink like a rock. It seemed too good to be true, first $1.20, then $1.10, then who would believe it going below a dollar? so it went, right down to .68 cents a litre! Oh boy! Oh bliss!
Then the dream started to dissipate. squeaking back up at a rate of .05 cents a week. Now we're around $1.05. The gas companies blame a strike in New Jersey but wait! World prices continue to fall. Have all along. Today the outlook is for oil to hit $40.00 per barrel in the next few weeks. Will we see the price at the pump follow? Here's my prediction:
Price at the pumps will drop for a while. World price will level off at around $40.00 a barrel. Then prices at the pump will begin to climb again, not in lock step with the world price.
I know we're all thinking it, so I'll just say it: We're all getting robbed blind. No guns to our head, no masks, just outright blatant theft.
My opinion matters nothing on the world stage, but I just had to vent.
