8"x10" oil on canvas
I set out to paint today in my usual way. A trip to my fav coffee spot, a quick read of the days news and back to the studio to paint. Today's routine was interrupted by the shocking news of yet another intrusion into our daily lives and sense of security.
Runners entering the finish line area of the Boston Marathon, anxious to see wives, Husbands, Children, Parents and friends greeting them with proud smiles as they corss. Not this time. It wasn't to be. Sadly someone decided this was the place and opportunity to make a point. A point that will never be thought of as honourable by anyone who saw it. I'm sure the monsters behind this deplorable act are proud of them selves but I am certain that they will be found and they will have the rest of their lives to contemplate that ill placed pride in a cold dark cell somewhere in America.
We all, I am sure are now questioning our presence at large public events. I am for sure. In that thought and also in the resolve to find and issue justice to the mindless and warped person (s) who did this we stand together.
