15"x11" oil on wood
A few years ago my daughter came home with some forms from school about a camp she wanted to attend. Camp White Pine. I had never heard of it before and sending my child to a far away camp in the Ontario Northland was a bit of a stretch for her Mother and I. We did it anyway. I had no idea what a wonderful place it would be and how much my children would enjoy it, and then we arrived to check it out.
There are many wonderful children's camps in Ontario and I suppose they all have their high points, but for us Camp White Pine was great. Great geography, deep woods experience, canoes, the whole nine yards, as they say.
It gave my daughter and now my first son a taste of what inspired their Dad to paint as I do. Each time we go to visit it really inspires me again. That is why I decided to paint this scene.
Thank you Camp White Pine for my children's great memories.
