Koerner Hall

Throughout my life I have had many many different songs that have been fav's of mine, like all of us I suppose. An interesting aspect of songs is one that often goes unnoticed, that is the song writers themselves. Some songs for some artists are one hit wonders. Some are the announcement of a new artist to the music world and the ushering in of a long career to follow.
I noticed over and over again that my fav songs were mostly from one particular writer. Then one day while at a Bonnie Raitt concert at Ontario place, she was singing a song that resonated deep in my soul. The chords were rich, the melody warm and something very familiar was coming from the stage, and it wasn't just from Bonnie. Then she turned to the guy on the piano and introduced him as Toronto's own Marc Jordan.
That sealed it for me. Marc's music would go on to become a common thread through my life.
I recently had the opportunity to meet this icon of Canadian and American hits after his show at Koerner Hall in Toronto. I can say after having met many famous persons over the years through my own art career I have not met many who have had both feet planted firmly on the ground. After the concert there was Marc and his wife (very successful in her own right) Amy Sky out in the foyer meeting and chatting with the fans. You'd never know there were fans in the room, you'd think it was a gathering of friends. Marc and Amy greeted each one warmly and as if they had all grown up on the same street together. That's the kind of feet firmly on the ground people they were/are.
It just made our evening with them a real pleasure and we left with a feeling that we had just made new friends.
After over 35 years of following and enjoying the music of Marc and more recently Amy I am thrilled to have had this wonderful experience of meeting them in person. It is truly a full circle for me.
Thanks Marc! Thanks Amy!
