My paintings of Canadian Rockies

Banff, above the Railway Station, and Alberta Rockies are two paintings that I did after a long stretch of paintings for a private show. I was focused on a certain feel for the show series and when I finished that series I had a strong desire to break completely free from that series and do something dramatically different. I looked through my photo files for something that would jolt me, grab me, make me have to paint it. There they were, as if waiting to pounce on me while I wondered by unaware of their presence...Those massive and majestic creatures towering over the lands around them. Glowing with light off their snow covered peaks. I fell in submission and did my solemn duty.  
There they are now, for t you to enjoy. I particularly painted them dark so that your eye would have no where to go but to the peak. So that you the viewer will have no choice but to experience the power I felt from those wonderfully friendly giants.
