where JP had to hop out of the canoe in water up to his belt to push our canoe over the logs to pass to the other side. Thanks JP!
Paddling Meech Lake
My friend and guide, Jean-Paul Murray helped me to experience the lake in the most genuine manner, including hopping right out of the canoe into waist deep water so he could shove our canoe over a submerged log. Just so we could continue on to the other side of the cattle bridge. The cattle bridge is a build up of logs and earth cutting a bridge like path through one of the bogs on McDonalds Bay. Long since abandoned it has many submerged logs which will catch you unaware if you are not watching.
I snapped a few shots there and this is one of my oil sketches resulting from the experience.
