North Shore, Lake Superior
Near Thunder Bay
30"x30" oil on canvas
I have been to the north before. But not since I was a young man on many trips around Canada with my Father and family. Dad used to convert the back of the old GM Van into a camper of sorts and Mom would pack up all the essentials. Then, off we would go to see this great land we were and are so honoured to live in and be a part of.
Many of those trips were filled with mazing memories and the North Shore of Lake Superior was one such I have never forgotten. You just know you will never forget dipping into the brisk waters too early in the summer, yes I will forever have that one etched into my brain!
The drama was in the high roadside views, the many stops along hwy 17 to breath the clear cool air and drink in the vistas that even as a kid were so amazing.
I will blog more on this later, I have another painting to get too. For now here is one of my first (seen above). I hope you enjoy this forthcoming series of North Shore works from my new March trip to the area. As always your comments and impressions are invited at robertmcaffee@gmail.com
